About the Captain

Capt. Axel is a guide, writer, outdoorsman, photographer, conservationist, and big mountain skier. Axel’s passion for hunting,  fishing, and skiing runs deep as he is a Maine native that has been roaming the woods and water since he was a kid. 

Guiding is a conduit to the outdoors for Axel, helping him to forge a deeper connection with the natural world and allowing it to be shared with other's. It's the never ending nuances of a life spent on the water and in the woods that hold Axel's attention so strongly. 

The distinct rhythm to these wild places is revealed only by a willingness to learn and dedicate yourself. Axel's guiding career includes extensive time in Coastal New England zones of Maine and cape code. Along with expert backcountry terrain in the Adirondacks and western mountains ranges.
